• It takes roughly 5600 kg of force (that’s the weight of 88 people) to squash a penny.

How to clean your pennies?

PENNIES ARE MADE OF COPPER AND OVER TIME BEGIN TO OXIDIZE. TRY THE FOLLOWING TO CLEAN YOUR PENNIES:

  • Ketchup (yes, ketchup) and then some baking soda: rub some ketchup onto the penny and scrub it with a small brush. Rinse. Mix baking soda and water into a thick paste, rub over coin and wipe clean.

  • Brasso metal cleaner. Follow instructions on packaging. 

清潔奇趣紀念幣的方法? 

用銅製成的奇趣紀念幣，會隨著時日而出現 氧化的現象，只要依照適當的清潔方法，便 可光潔如新。

  • 茄汁 (蕃茄醬) 和梳打粉。在紀念幣上面塗上茄 汁，用小刷子輕輕擦 一下 。用清水沖洗。把梳打粉 混合清水成 膏狀，在紀念幣上擦 拭，再用乾布抹 浄。

  • 使用 Brasso 擦銅水。請依照包裝上的指示。
